This is definitely a self-contradiction!! I cannot really understand how you feel because both of my parents are still alive. But, I can sympathize with you and I too would have difficulty seeing my parents with a different person-if something was to happen. I think in situations like this you need to put aside your personal feelings and want your parents to be happy and not be lonely/suffer another loss (like you stated)My brother got married about two years ago and he has a step-daughter. When my brother and his wife became more serious he had a difficult time acting like a father figure because he did not want his step daughter to feel like he was replacing her father. Over time it got easier for him and his step daughter sees my brother as another father figure in her life. I believe that all difficult situations (like yours) truly shows your character, your selflessness, and your willingness to do whatever to make someone else happy. I don’t know if I would be able to do it!
